Sugargoo QC Guide for New Zealand: Resolve Item Questions Before Shipping
QC photos help you check the goods received for your order before arranging international delivery. For a New Zealand parcel, use that opportunity to resolve the detail that could change whether you want the item. A photograph can show a visible feature, but it cannot establish every material property, personal fit or future delivery outcome.
Follow the New Zealand ordering guide for the full sequence. This page focuses on the item decision between warehouse receipt and parcel submission.
Match the image to the order first
Confirm the product reference, selected option and quantity. A seller's gallery image and your warehouse image serve different purposes. Another buyer's QC may help you form a question, but it is not an inspection of your received item.
If the source reference changed while you were shopping, use the New Zealand link guide to reconstruct the option you actually ordered. Do not compare the warehouse item with an older candidate that you replaced.
Choose the view that answers your question
Begin with the overall item, then ask for a detail where needed. More photographs are useful only when they show something relevant that remains unclear.
| Concern | Useful view or information |
|---|---|
| Wrong option | Item overview and relevant label |
| Garment length | Measurement with visible endpoints and units |
| Print placement | Straight-on view of the relevant area |
| Mark or seam concern | Close-up plus a wider view locating it |
| Missing component | Received pieces shown together |
| Pair mismatch | Both shoes or both matching pieces together |
For example, view the black full-zip hoodie candidate on OG. If you chose a similar layer, sleeve or body measurements might matter more to your decision than another distant photograph. This listing is a browsing example, not a warehouse inspection performed for this article.
Compare measurements consistently
Ask for the measurement you need, including its start and end points. Do not compare a flat garment width with a body circumference or assume that a size label means the same thing across listings. Keep centimetres and any other units explicit.
The size guide explains those distinctions. For a layer, compare with a garment that already gives you the room you want over your other clothes. A photograph cannot demonstrate how the new garment will feel when you move.
If the tape or garment position makes the reading unclear, request clarification rather than treating an approximate visual estimate as an exact result. Avoid declaring a fault from an angle that does not actually show it.
Describe a concern without jumping to a verdict
State where the issue appears and what you expected from the selected option. “Please show the area beside the lower fastening more clearly” is easier to act on than a general statement that the item looks bad.
If the concern is a specification rather than a visible feature, ask for the appropriate information. A neat exterior does not prove waterproofing, fibre composition, authenticity or long-term durability. Keep those questions separate from what the photo can show.
The New Zealand review guide helps when you are comparing your images with somebody else's account. A favourable review of a similar item does not settle a discrepancy in your order.
Decide before adding the item to the parcel
You may be satisfied, need another answer or want to discuss a return. Record that decision for each item rather than approving the whole group because most pieces look acceptable.
Use the returns guide to understand the difference between requesting a remedy and having one approved. Check the relevant storage information through the warehouse guide while an issue is being resolved. Do not assume that asking a question automatically changes a deadline.
If you choose to ship other items first, compare the actual parcel costs and packing choices. Splitting or combining should be based on the resulting arrangement, not an assumed saving.
Keep item approval separate from packing approval
An acceptable item may still need an appropriate packing choice. If you request box removal or another change, clarify what protection remains. Do not use the item photograph as proof of the final packed parcel's dimensions or weight.
The New Zealand shipping guide explains how to compare quotes once the parcel inputs are clear. An item passing your visible checks does not establish route eligibility, a delivery date or the full cost to your address.
Share only what is needed
When asking publicly for a second opinion, remove account details, names, addresses and tracking or payment references. Keep the product feature visible and obtain permission before reusing another person's picture. For order-specific action, send the relevant references privately through support.
You can preserve the selected option and your decision in a personal sheet, then return to the New Zealand hub for other categories.
Does QC prove the item is genuine?
No. A visible inspection is not an authenticity determination.
Should I approve an unclear measurement to avoid waiting?
If it could change whether you want the item, clarify it before deciding to ship.
Does a product photo establish parcel weight?
No. Use the actual packed parcel information for the shipping comparison.
